Pictures and a question.
It's me again! I posted not too long ago with a look at my apartment but I've recently done a bit of work and I wanted to show it off. I've spent about $35 at Goodwill in the past couple of weeks and I think it's been well worth it. My landlord even made a rather nice comment when he stopped by earlier this week. :)

Also, I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of their bathrooms that they'd like to share. I have a separate shower room which is actually quite spacious but I have no idea what to do with it. It currently has a solar system theme but...I never really went all of the way with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is my previous entry for reference:

My apologies for the kitten toys everywhere.

New cover for futon, $15. Papasan chair from a friend.

$2 lamp from Goodwill.

I've been looking for a birdcage forever and I finally picked one up yesterday at Goodwill for $2! In addition, I got rid of my ugly entertainment center and opted for the table my parents had in their first apartment back in the '70s.

Plant holder and wooden dolls.

I bought six frames for six dollars!

One of my new plants and my Walden Pond coffee mug.

My sleeping nook which now feels a whole lot more like a bedroom.

My moment of zen.

Gift from my brother

And my new betta, Denny Crane. :)

It does look a lot more like a bedroom. You've made the space feel even more cozy. Good job!

Also, DENNY!

Denny is amazing! I'm kind of obsessed.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. :)

That new layout for the living room makes it look so much bigger! Does your goodwill just commonly have birdcages? I've never seen one at mine. Also, the bedroom looks worlds more together.

Also, I don't know if I commented on this last time, but it's really good to see women representing the Star Trek and sci-fi loving. I hate when it's just seen as an anti-social guy thing. I totally have little Star Trek and Star Wars toys all around my apartment too. I'm trying to blend them in by giving my living room a steampunk feel, but we'll see how that works.

I agree! My dad was actually the one that suggested it to me. That futon hadn't been moved in fifteen years and as silly as it sounds, I really had no idea what to do with it.

I had never seen one there but I kept checking back in hopes. Typically, bird cages are a bit on the pricey side so I was hoping to pick one up for cheap. I really lucked out. A pal of mine was looking to spend about $50 for one. Yikes.

Oh, that's amazing! That seriously just made my day. I've been a massive Trekkie for years and I've yet to meet another female IRL that has taken even a slight interest. Have you posted your apartment here? Have you taken pictures of your SW and ST stuff?

My bedroom is sort of my Trekkie haven. My boyfriend bought me the Star Trek TV lights that I'm absolutely obsessed with. We used them on our first Christmas tree as well which we themed around TOS and TNG. The Starfleet insignia was our topper.

Just out of curiosity, would it be OK if I added you? You seem really awesome.

I was just about to ask you the same thing! You might not want to be friends anymore though after you learn I'm a DS9er. Don't get me wrong, I love TNG and TOS (even the cheesy ones), but I love the deeper look I get into a specific region given by living on a space station, and I love that not everyone is a starfleet officer, it allows some shady civilian characters you wouldn't get on the Enterprise.

I posted my kitchen a while back ( http://community.livejournal.com/thriftysauce/6854.html ), but it's not too nerdy except for the Vader nutcracker, and I'm not nearly as proud of it as I will be of the living room once it's done.

Photobucket But there are my action figures having a party. That's Bashir with the bucket on his head, Kira and O'Brien dancing, Dukat and Odo looking for someone to chickenfight with, and Morn trying to get out of a conversation with Captain Dathon who has jumped series to tell Morn about Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.

Star Trek girl fans
I'm a woman who likes Star trek too, pretty much all the series. I have a few toys but most of them except a Mego spock on my desk, are still in the boxes.

I know of another woman who's really into star trek.
